Mr Odumala underwent his training as a junior doctor in Nigeria, Birmingham and Southend. During his time in the United Kingdom, Mr Odumala has perused a Masters degree in Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery from the University of Birmingham. Mr Odumala was also appointed as specialist registrar on the Structured Orthopaedic Training Program in Wales and was awarded the CCST in 2010.

Mr Odumala was appointed as an Orthopaedic Consultant at Barnsley Hospital in 2012, taking the role as Clinical Lead for the introduction of Enhanced Recovery in Shoulder Arthroscopy Surgery.
​
Along with having numerous publications to his name, including book citations, Mr Odumala has undertaken advanced training in upper limb surgery provided by numerous prominent surgeons within the United Kingdom specialising in this field.
​
Alongside his clinical work Mr Odumala is a member of several specialist societies, is also actively involved in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate doctors, Mr Odumala is also a panel member of the Foundation Programme ARCP.
